CAP S/A – ARENA DOS PARANAENSES

Brafer and Atletico Paranaense Club are historical partners. In 1999 Brafer was hired to assemble approximately 1,000 tons of structures for the first Brazilian stadium to have a steel roof and side closing, which was considered the most modern stadium in Latin America until 2007.

In the refurbishment of the complex for the 2014 World Cup, Brafer was hired by CAP SA to manufacture, galvanize, paint and assemble 5,500 tons of steel structures for the new roof.

The assembly process was a particular challenge because, as per the project design, the roof has the biggest stadium span in Brazil, approximately 200 meters. Two main beams, of approximately 1,300 tons each, were assembled in 20-meter modules and supported by scaffolding towers to complete the span. It was only after the full assembly of each span that it was possible to disassemble and remove the temporary scaffolding structure.
